Palais Theatre

Franklin Folk Club

Date
Saturday 21st October 2023
Time
6pm-10pm
Location
3388 Huon Highway, Franklin

When Lou Bradley moved to the Huon Valley we were excited to have her join us at the Palais, she is a sensation not to be missed! Lou started taking her craft seriously after receiving a grant from John Butler and then an ARIA finalist nomination for her first studio album. A self-confessed hippie, country music outlaw, and continuously touring artist and song writer, Lou is no stranger to living a life devoted to the highlights and estrangement that comes with a career in pursuing original music.

After 20 years raising her family in the hills of Mullumbimby with her banjo playing husband Phil, the Huon Valley hills are now her downtime home and the sound of her songs confirms they are indeed made in the hills. Unique, a little down-home a little rough but warm and familiar all at the same time.

The Franklin Folk Club started in 1976, founded by Mick and Helen Flanagan, who also co-founded the Cygnet Folk Festival in 1982.

Folk Music is the music of the people and a Folk Club is a place where Community gather to connect and make new friends whilst enjoying a showcase of Tasmanian Music and Art. All welcome!

Doors open at 6pm, bar, dinner and show open from 7pm with supports (open mic section). Bring a plate for supper. Family friendly – children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian. Tickets are available from Humantix.

Would you like to play in the open mic section?
