Mountain River Community Hall

The Hall is the only community facility in a low-density but high-growth population area of 1,500 people comprising the villages of Mountain River, Grove and Crabtree. The original hall was destroyed in the 1967 bushfires. This hall was built in 1969 to replace it. The hall is ideal for dances and parties, weddings, art and craft groups, exercise classes, community information sharing get-togethers or garage sales, and is the single locality marker for the broader Mountain River Community.

It has a fenced off and secure playground, BBQ and a picnic table, and a recently renewed kitchen area inside the hall.
It has thick fire-rated drapes for the north and west walls, which have greatly helped the sound quality in the hall, and added an element of insulation.

The Mountain River Hall committee is fully comprised of volunteers resident in the conjoined communities of Mountain River- Grove-Crabtree.

The committee have plans to transform it further into a vibrant community meeting place – to improve social inclusion by increasing participation in community and social activities.
