Southern Employment and Training Network (SETN)

Southern Employment and Training Network (SETN) is part of the Tasmanian Government’s regional jobs hub network.

Our mission is to increase employment opportunities, participation and access to training for people living in the Huon Valley, Channel, and Bruny Island region.

We strive to do this by connecting our local community to inclusive and effective training and skill development opportunities, specialised employment services and real job vacancies within our region.

With a focus on nurturing relationships and fostering confidence with job seekers, employers and services providers, we are dedicated to helping our community thrive through meaningful work and career growth. We are committed to creating a supportive environment where everyone has the opportunity to reach their potential and make a positive impact in the world.

Background

Regional jobs hubs have been established by the Tasmanian Government to help more Tasmanians into work. They bring local employers together with job seekers providing dedicated employment support services including career counselling, advice on how to get job ready, and transport options.

The Southern Employment and Training Network (SETN) is one of seven regional jobs hubs in Tasmania. It encompasses the Huon Valley and Kingborough municipalities.

The aim of the network is to provide a free service to help people in the Huon Valley and Kingborough municipalities find local jobs, ultimately giving more community members the opportunity to live and work in the place they call home.

It is community focused and helps both job seekers and local employers.
