In the Olive Orchard – A sensory tasting and learning experience

Lisa and David invite you to engage all your senses while discovering the natural beauty of olives in the Campo de Flori Olive Orchard. You will smell and taste your way around Tasmanian with some of the of the most flavoursome Extra Virgin Olive Oils (EVOO) we have curated from around the state, including our own Campo de Flori Farm Blend EVOO, which has laboratory tested at premium status and won awards at the Royal Tasmanian Fine Food Awards. Each of the oils has been chosen for its unique characteristics from mild to robust. You will learn to smell and taste like a judge while surround by our flowering olive orchard that comes alive in December and January with the hum of busy giant bumblebees and honeybees! A sound not to missed.

After the tasting we will stroll the through the orchard to learn about the nine varieties of olives grown in the Campo de Flori Orchard.

If the Tassie weather happens to get a bit wild, the tasting will be moved inside to our beautiful warm and dry farm gate workshop.

THE EXPERIENCE INCLUDES:

• The Campo de Flori Farm Olive Information Booklet. Including photos and descriptions of the types of olives we grow.
• Tree to bottle: We will discuss the process of making extra virgin olive oil.
• A tasting of Tasmania’s best Extra Virgin Olive Oils from around the state, from mild to robust and discuss each one’s characteristic with the tasting wheel found in the booklet. A discussion on the tasting notes of “what do you taste?”.
• We will walk and talk through the olive orchard observing each variety of olive tree grown.
• Olive treats after the tour
• After the tour you can enjoy our farm gate shop where you can find our flavoursome extra virgin olive oil for sale and pick up a special ceramic treasure made in our own on farm ceramic studio.
